Easy Ways to Use Cilantro for Everyday Meals

I think using fresh herbs is one of the best kept secrets of cooking.  I love using herbs because just a sprinkle of them on top of any dish instantly make it smell amazing and look inviting.  It takes mere seconds to grab a scissors and snip the herbs over the dish before serving.

Good to Know:

Cilantro is best when used fresh or frozen. The flavor weakens considerably when dried or cooked.  Cilantro can be used in cold foods like salads or added to cooked dishes right before serving.

Fun Fact:

A small percentage of the population dislikes cilantro because they have a genetic variation that makes them perceive its flavor as soapy (research has found this in approximately 4-14% of the population).

How to Prepare:

Tear the leaves from the stems and use a kitchen scissors to snip into pieces.
