Also known as Hakurei or Japanese turnips, these sweet & juicy roots are getting a cult following at markets for good reason. They are mild and tender with an almost fruity flavor --nothing like the old-world turnips you are probably familiar with. We enjoy them raw, but they are extra buttery when roasted. Make sure to peel the skin! Tops are edible as a stir-fry green also.
