If you have the freezer space, this is a great way to save money on Svec's grassfed ground beef.
These packages each have a small flaw that qualifies them as "seconds", such as:
- A dent or ding that punctures the package (they may leak when thawed).
- Chunks of delicious grassfed beef fat that weren't well ground and incorporated into the meat (you can remove these or break them up when cooking the meat).
- Packages that are a little over or under the typical 1 lb weight (though you will get 20 lb total in the bundle).
- Loss of vacuum seal, slight frosting, or slight discoloring on the meat.
In other words, it's wholesome, delicious beef, but with a little bit of character that keeps us from selling it at full price.
