How to Freeze Spinach- It's Easier Than You Think
If you have more spinach than you can use fresh and don't want it to go to waste, freezing it is a great way to preserve it.
How to Freeze Spinach
- Remove any large stem pieces from spinach
- Place in a ziploc bag and freeze.
- After it is frozen, you can crush the spinach and press the extra air out of the bag, which will shatter it into tiny pieces so that it takes up much less space in your freezer.
Now you will have a supply of locally grown greens to enjoy year-round. Frozen spinach is great for smoothies or any dish that is cooked; it wouldn't be good to eat raw. We like to use our frozen spinach in smoothies, quiches, lasagna, and casseroles.
