Superfood Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
My family enjoys a smoothie almost every morning for breakfast and chocolate peanut butter banana is our favorite flavor. With the addition of microgreens and flaxseed, this smoothie is a nutritional powerhouse to start your day!
Notes:
Milk- I would suggest starting with 1/2 cup milk. If you want to thin it out or increase the overall volume of the smoothie after blending it, you can add more milk and blend again.
Microgreens- I found that 1/4 oz microgreens gave the smoothie a mildly "green" flavor. Feel free to experiment and add a larger amount, but know that the microgreen flavor will be more noticeable.
Servings- This recipe makes enough for 1 serving, but you can multiply it by the number of family members you have.
Superfood Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
- 1/2-3/4 cup any kind of milk, can be dairy or non-dairy
- 1/4 oz broccoli or sunflower microgreens
- 1/2 of a banana, frozen
- 4 ice cubes
- 1 T. cocoa powder
- 1 T. ground flaxseed
- 2 T. peanut butter
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
- 6 drops of liquid stevia extract or 1 T. honey
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Yields 1 serving, about 16 oz.
